Deep Rooted Love

“And after the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.” Mark 4:6

Tears of sadness filled my daughter’s eyes when I told her we had to throw away the flowers on the table. I was sad with her, and saw this as a divine opportunity to tell her what happens to flowers when they are uprooted, taken away from the one thing that gives them life and nutrients.

That’s how I feel…when I’m not hiding and abiding in the Rock, when I feel like I’ve gone ‘too far’ or it’s ‘too loud’ to hear His voice.  Those times I feel like a withered flower.

I don’t go by feelings anymore.

The Truth is I am already a branch on His Vine and nothing can separate me from the love of God that is IN Christ Jesus {period}.

I am not withered because I am rooted in the One that brings life through His Word, and Living Water.  I’m finding the more time I abide in Jesus Christ, God reveals just how deep His love is for me…how deep He has put my roots which strengthens the confidence of my faith IN the finish work of Jesus Christ {not my stinky flesh}.

As I continue to draw only from the Root I bring forth the fragrance of Christ…by His grace alone.

**The Scripture I kept hearing while writing is what I will pray for us:

“…I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-19

About altarofheaven

My name is arcelia. I love, worship and revere God. Since 2009 I have been enJOYing the peace with God I have through Jesus Christ. I'm learning to listen and respond to His voice through His Word and convictions of the Holy Spirit in this midst of this chaotic and distracting world. I am a broken redeemed healed vessel, joyously drawing water from the Spring of salvation pouring out in God's strength by His Spirit for His glory. "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." 2 Corinthians 13:14 View all posts by altarofheaven

“I don’t go by feelings anymore.” Amen! It’s so easy to be fooled by our feelings and not remember that nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus.

Yes Vicki, not going by feelings is a new thing for me.

For too long I relied on my feelings and human thinking but as a child of God I am one with the Father and Jesus Christ (John 17:21).
I am to have the mind of Christ. I must walk by faith not by feeling…I must walk by faith not by sight, so I pray I continue to set my mind and eyes and heart on the things above and not of this earth or my circumstances. For my flesh, this is not easy but I am realizing more each day i have been given everything I need in Christ. I’m glad you stopped by!

Wonderful post thank you. I see also that you liked Graeme’s post in mybroom. I thought it really helpful, the best post he’s published. This is what I wrote:

That is the best post I have ever read from you Graeme, I am grateful. I often speak of a personal relationship with Jesus especially when witnessing. I speak of having had a personal encounter, which I have. However, sometimes I have struggled to articulate just what I mean. You have nailed it here. It’s a personal relationship like no other. One that is established in God’s Covenant and sealed with the blood of the Lamb. Amen. Thanks again.

Hello! I’m so glad you stopped by! Yes I do like Graeme’s blog, God has used him to continually remind me of the grace we have been given in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

I agree with you, I sometimes struggle to articulate what I mean too–it’s funny that I write because I feel like I’m horrible at communicating what’s in my heart. That’s why I pray before I write and before I press the publish button 😉

Arcelia, I have a question for you: I would like to do 30 days of story on my blog where I feature one person per day. I was wondering if you would like to participate. All you would need to do is write your testimony and send it to me. I will feature you on my blog. It would encourage other believers in their walk. I would like to start Jan. 1, 2013. Would you be interested?
